NaGa / NaNo Update #1
So, halfway through week one and I should either be 4950 words into my novel or halfway through my first game, or both. Turns out I am 1650 words into a novel I have no interest in and about a quarter of the way into my first game project.
F.U.
November 1 is here and so begins NaNoWriMo and NaGa DeMon. Good luck everyone! This afternoon I will update you all with details of my first game design project, F.U. (Free / Universal) my fast-playing generic RPG.
NaGa DeMon
I am christening this month National Game Design Month (NaGa DeMon). When I proposed this idea I thought of it as an alternative to NaNoWriMo, something for non-noveling game fans to do during November. BUT WAIT! It turns out, you don’t have to write a novel to participate in NaNoWriMo.
Design Like A Platinum Chef!
Last weekend I attended Uprising in Brisbane. It was great fun, for a bunch of reasons. Firstly, I ran an awesome game of The Beast of Limfjord, a game where the players threw themselves into their roles and everyone had a blast. Thanks to everyone in that game – you made it THE highlight of

The Green and the Tan
The Green and the Tan are fast-playing and fun miniature battle rules to use with plastic army men – you know, the cheap toy soldiers you get from discount stores! Easy for new players to get involved quickly, without having to worry about detailed army lists or complex charts, but detailed enough to provide veteran players
Design Diary [Neon] part 2
Last time I talked about where I start with a game. This time I am going to talk about definining my project. Definitions are important. They ensure everyone is on the same “page” when they play a game. As the designer of the game, it is kind of important that I have a really clear idea
