Lost World
Conquest of the Lost World is a miniature battle game of Victorian-Pulp adventure. It is currently in development and YOU can help make it better by playing the game and sending me feedback. It is a unit-based wargame set in a world that might have been. This is the world of Jules Verne and Arthur Conan Doyle, a place where mad scientists, industrial powers and primative warriors clash in a land that time had forgotten.

Victorian Pulp?
Imagine the grand Victorian adventure tales – The Lost World, 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea, Journey to the Centre of the Earth – as told by the pulp writers! Stories told with all the rigorous fact-finding of the pulp masters! Action, adventure, and more outrageous action featuring Brilliant Scientist, Noble Savages, Devious (insert favourite foriegn power) and Men of Copper!
The Details
The rules have been playtested quite a bit already, though there may be a few tweaks and adjustments that have been made between recent playtest rounds that will need ironing out. I am giving the game away free at the moment, but here is the deal – I want your help to make it truly awesome! As you play Conquest of the Lost World I would love it if you thought about the following and either posted on the forums or sent me an email about your games (hit the “envelope” in the menu at the top of the page).
Checks: does the two-dice system work for you? Why or why not?
Forces: what kinds of figures did you use, and what stats did you give them? Did the pyramid force chart and sample units help? Did units feel kind of “samey”.
Difficulty to succeed: were Tests achievable, or did you find situations where you just could not hit or damage a target, no matter what you did?
Close combat: did it work for you?
Disordered markers: how many did your units accrue? How difficult were they to remove? How did you track them?
Clarity: what parts of the rules did you need to re-read to “get”? What would benefit from detailed examples? What would benefit from diagrams?
Fun: most importantly, did you and your opponent enjoy playing? What were the most entertaining parts? What detracted from your enjoyment?
Thanks for giving Conquest of the Lost World a go. I look forward to hearing how your games hve gone!
