New look
So the site has had another re-vamp, taking advantage of a very cool theme from WP Themes (you really should check them out if you have a wordpress site. I like the clean, professional look and the scrolling product window is one of the easiset to use that I have encountered.
I am also considering a little bit of rebranding, in regards to the Peril Planet logo. Something a little simpler, that will look good in colour as well as black-and-white;

The original logo

Potential new logo
I am still undecided about this. Let me know what you think.

Hey Nathan,
I like the idea of moving to a reversed (white) planet in your red square.
However, the potential new logo bothers me in a couple of ways:
a) rotating “Peril” 90 degrees leaves a distracting hole between the “L” of Peril and the “P” of Planet.
b) dropping the planet’s ring weakens the iconic scifi impact of the planet
c) as a result the red highlights are a bit confusing and distracting on the planet surface and the shading on the planet is a bit messy.
So I would recommend:
i) keep the basic layout of your previous logo
ii) swap the planet to white; drop the highlights, drop the glow
iii) explore making the planet smaller and the ring larger
iv) explore maybe a gradient background (maybe 100% of your red at the top and 70% of your red at the bottom
v) maybe explore letting the planet overlap a bit of more of the word “Planet” – you’ve got the word “planet” and picture of a planet – there’s some room to move there
Good luck!

Cheers John. I totally agree with that hole in the top left corner – it was bugging me. I knew the loss of the ring would draw a comment! Thanks for your suggestions, I will continue to play around with designs.
